The garden will be open for visitors on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 20th May to 20th June inclusive. That’s fifteen days in all! Open from 2pm-6pm. We are pleased to say we now have a coffee cart on site during our open month, serving hot drinks and cake!
Charity Collaboration
We are excited to announce that Refugee Resource will be joining us in Wednesdays and Fridays at our open afternoons. Members of the team will be onsite to chat to everyone and you will have the opportunity to purchase their cook book!
Refugee Resource relieves distress, improves well-being and facilitates the integration of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in Oxfordshire, through provision of psychological, social and practical support. They provide counselling and psychotherapy, mentoring, specialist services for men and women.
Special event
On Saturday 13th June, we are delighted to welcome Rachel Trethewey, author of the recently published biography of Sydney Redesdale, Muv – the story of the Mitford girls’ mother. Rachel will be signing books (and there will be copies for sale) and chatting to garden visitors about this extraordinary family, who lived at Asthall Manor from 1919 to 1926. You will find Rachel in the pool house, if the weather is fine, and if it’s not, we’ll find somewhere more cosy for her!
