Tezeta Seventh Place Vinyl Release

WRFM Specials & Exclusives

Friday, 13 June 2025 - 37 minutes

Tezeta Seventh Place

Originally self-released in 2016 as a limited-run CD-R, the album has been reissued by Stroud based independent record shop and label Klang Tone Records, bringing its unique fusion of Ethiopian jazz, Afrobeat, and progressive improvisation to a wider audience.

Formed in 2014 Tezeta had a cult following among other musicians and were known for their wild group solo wig outs, virtuoso musicianship and creative use of unusual rhythm, harmony and melody. Led by composer and pianist Daniel Inzani, the eight-piece group became a staple of Bristol's live music scene, but also performed at festivals across the UK including Glastonbury, Shambala, and Green Man before disbanding in 2023.

The reissue of Seventh Place not only preserves Tezeta's innovative musical legacy but also introduces the captivating sound they made to new listeners and also serves as an introduction to the music of Daniel Inzani.
