Actually the brainchild of Club owner Jayne Jefferies, this project takes Burt Bacharach’s music and creates sumptuous, gently reimagined versions either sung or instrumental that are full of new character and invoke some intriguing jazz improvisations. Top UK vocalist Catherine Sykes sings her favourites and Alex’s long time collaborator and Paul Jefferies plays bass – the whole project is delicately underpinned by drummer Euan Palmer. Expect melodies from film and the worlds of pop – classics like Arthur’s Theme, Alfie, Do You Know the Way to San Jose, Wives and Lovers and many more.
