Eva Maria Doroszkowska takes you on an exploration of just a few famous and intrepid pianists in this concert and informal talk of “keyboard herstory” The Czech composer Dvořák on visiting the States commented , “Here all the ladies play, but I am afraid the ladies cannot help us much. They have
not the creative power.” Composer and pianist Amy Beach (1867), set on challenging this statement
in an article in the Boston Times referring to over 100 female published composers. 100 composers is indeed far too few given the many illustrious and diligent women who have gone. This informal talk and performance of some beautiful jewels of the piano repertoire is an event not to be missed.
