Oxford Preservation Trust makes Open Doors possible. We’re a small, independent charity, dedicated to protecting and celebrating the landscapes, buildings and stories that make Oxford so special. We care for 1000 acres of publicly accessible green space in and around the city, look after historic buildings, get involved in community history and campaign for thoughtful planning. We’re currently restoring wetland habitats in Headington and Boars Hill, floodplain meadows in Marston and a Victorian drinking fountain near Port Meadow. Every September, we bring the city together for a weekend when Oxford’s special places open their doors to everyone, for free. With support from local organisations and individuals, it’s a chance to enjoy and explore parts of the city you might not normally see, from live performances and hands-on activities to peaceful gardens and guided walks.
