Burford Jazz presents Harry Diplocks Hot club quartet

Featuring now one of the UK’s most respected gypsy jazz swing guitarists - Harry Diplock with 'young gun’ Sol Grimshaw. 'Hot Club’ swing developed from the style traditionally played by Gypsy Travellers in Europe before the second world war and was made famous in the 1930’s by guitarist Django Reinhardt (still considered by many to be the very finest). Django’s bands featured both the infamous Stephanie Grappelli and numerous top-line saxophonist and clarinettists, so we’re bringing that mix together for this exciting show at Burford with the excellent Sam Braysher on saxes and Paul Jefferies playing double bass.
