Wonderful tone, oodles of jazz language and pin-point articulation: that’s how we assess Ben’s very special trumpeting skills! He’s been a main stay of the British jazz scene for over two decades now, involved at the highest level playing styles from ’Trad’ to BeBop and everything in between - he’s also an in-demand player on the pop scene. One of Ben’s early loves however is funk or fusion jazz and he’ll therefore be taking two handfuls of some of his favourite jazz standards infusing them with just enough funkiness to make them fresh and exciting. Ben’s chosen musicians in this mission will be the excellent guitarist Hugh Turner, bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Nick Millward.
